About ARC

On May 11, 2001, the School of Education at Purdue University announced the establishment of the Assessment Research Center (ARC). The ARC was created under the direction of Assistant Professor, Dr. Deborah Bennett. ARC projects have already made an impact in the state of Indiana and beyond. Read more about the ARC impact.

Mission Statement

 The Department of Educational Studies Assessment Research Center (ARC) is an initiative that supports the tripartite land grant mission of Purdue University. The ARC focuses on research, development, dissemination, and implementation of innovative assessment technologies to evaluate the performance of diverse learners and educational programs.


Goals

  1. Promote effective learning environments to increase access and application of assessment technology

  2. Promote and participate in state and national assessment technology research and development initiatives

  3. Establish and encourage professional development to enhance the quality of assessment technology
  4. Develop the identity and image of ARC and strengthen its functional and organizational structure in order to achieve its mission
